Obituary for Common Sense

The Obituary for Common SensecsGrave

Apparently it’s that time of year when people begin forwarding, and for good reason, the essay written a few years ago about the passing of Common Sense. It has been incorrectly attributed to George Carlin, The London Times, and various other authors. In reality, the essay was written in 1998 by Lori Borgman.

This is one of the better pithy essays of our times. It seems to pin point many of the things that afflict our nation. Study it today, and get a feeling about what we can do to change our path.

From the Obituary for Common Sense

C.S. was preceded in death by his wife, Discretion. He is survived by one daughter, Responsibility; one son, Reason; and two step-brothers, Dim-wit and Half-wit.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.
