Basic Dental Treatment
A perfect smile is characterized by a perfect set of teeth. Despite their obvious significance, teeth are often the most ignored part of the body. Severe dental problems are effects of an unhealthy lifestyle in most cases. Calcium deficiency is growing among adults and the oft repeated warning from childhood of brushing one’s teeth twice is ignored. Yet, in cases such as hereditary deficiencies, severe injury, trauma, birth defects etc. dental problems are unavoidable.
In recent years, dental health treatments have developed greatly and can cater to both medical and cosmetic demands of patients. Use of modern equipment and a fuller understanding of the patient’s needs have led to this growth.
Following is list of some basic treatment procedures for oral health
- Tooth Colored Fillings
Filling is one of the most commonly required treatments for patients of all age groups and can be completed in a single appointment. Cavities are filled with cement which is not the earlier unsightly, metallic colored, but a more decent tooth colored filling.
- Cleaning
While daily brushing and flossing are the minimum requirements for oral hygiene, regular dental cleaning will help to give an extra clean, glint to your teeth. It is mainly a preventive measure and involves fluoride cleansing, plaque removal, polishing and flossing. Cleaning also helps early detection of teeth problems.
- Implants
Modern dentistry provides one the option of installing new, artificial teeth to replace the ones lost to injury or disease. The implant is rooted in the gums and allowed to fix itself like the earlier tooth. This treatment is a good replacement for dentures, which are uncomfortable when chewing or sleeping. Implants will also help the patient gain a renewed self-confidence, as if he/she never lost any teeth!
- Invisible Braces
Braces are frowned upon by kids and pre-teens, for their dowdy appearance. It also hinders food intake and cleaning as they cannot be removed at one’s will. Invisalign invisible braces overcome all these problems. They do not interfere any of the day-to-day activities of the patient and are invisible for most part.
During your visit, exams may be provided in order to detect cavities or other problems. If they find a cavity during your checkup, they may provide you with treatment such as a filling before it develops into a more serious problem. It may be tempting to put off getting a filling is the pain is not too bad, but the sooner you act in this situation the more of the tooth you can save, which preserves its overall structural integrity. Some of the other preventative, cosmetic, and restorative dental services you may be able to receive include dentures, implant crowns, root canal therapy, teeth whitening, veneers, and much more.
